SO WHAT ARE YOUR TEMPLATE OPTIONS?
Okay so your sold on the idea of
wanting to get your
feet wet with offline consulting, and more specifically focusing on
setting up simple Mobile websites for business owners quickly...
...BUT you don't have anything to
start with, right?
Well there are a couple of options
to getting your Mobile template:
1.) You CAN PAY an
Online service to create a Mobile site for a client but then
you risk having THEIR ads or domain link showing on YOUR client's site
2.) you BUY a BASIC
Mobile website template to use
3.) you can BUY a better
graphic type of template from a site like TemplateMonster.com
4.) you can waste a few
days working on your own design from scratch...
...none of these options
seemed ideal...
I had already tried
option #1 and #2, and I wasn't about to blow some cash on option #3! So
what was left for me, but option #4?
Now if your just starting out,
having a basic
template might work okay for you and your first few clients. Just as an
example, I used one of the basic templates from Ryan's WSO package to
setup my first Mobile site here: J5Enterprises
And here is a picture of what it
looks like...
 ...but I wanted something
better, especially as I
start to look at making Mobile sites for clients. I especially didn't
feel like forking over $40 bucks just for 1 template from
TemplateMonster.com if my goal is to charge $199-299 per Mobile website
setup service.
They have some REALLY nice Mobile
templates at
TemplateMonster with some great colors and graphics, BUT at the cost,
plus the thought of having to possibly dig around in THEIR source code
to make changes where I could potentially screw something up didn't
work for me either.
Plus the other draw back
was that the one type of
niche template I wanted to target a design on first was less than
"amazing" in looks...
...you can see their
"so-so" restaurant template here that I found:
 Not a bad design, and a lot more personality than the basic blue design I have setup on my J5Enterprises.mobi site, BUT I still wasn't happy with potentially wasting my cash on buying just 1 template.... so I rolled up my sleeves and spent the last 10 days designing my OWN MOBILE WEBSITE TEMPLATE!! You need to understand
right upfront that I am NO
graphics designer or art major of any kind. I only know the basics of
making simple changes with Photoshop and Gimp and Paint.
So over the last week and a half,
I've spent an hour
here and there in the evenings after work, and after helping assist
Lynn with homework & bedtime routines for the boys... PLUS
throw in
a few hours over the last weekend and "Ta-Dah!" that was how I worked
on putting this sweet and appealing template together myself..!
The
good news is that YOU don't have to waste the time I did...
...you
also don't have to worry about having an extensive knowledge of HTML or
anything like that either!
Pretty much if
you can do a "cut and paste" and you can do a "find and replace" you
will be 10 yards from a touchdown when using my simple Mobile website
template...

"special introductory" rate of
$199, you'd still be making about $100 bucks an hour to provide this
much needed service... and don't forget one of the most important
aspects to doing this: RESIDUAL MONTHLY INCOME.
Normally I will charge clients $97 a month for a "normal" website "hosting and maintenance" fee. Then if I have to make changes and updates, that is a separate hourly rate they get billed. With these Mobile website setups there is no reason why you can't expect to charge a monthly rate of $20-$50 for their Mobile "hosting and maintenance" fee! Just 1 client at $199 setup + 12 months of $25 hosting fee = $499 a year! Okay I think you get the picture... WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THIS MOBILE TEMPLATE PACKAGE? 1.) You just use Notepad, NVU, Komposer or some other type of free html
editor to open a page file. Do "Find & Replace" so you take out
my
website link and replace it with YOUR client's website link info.
Replace out all the correct domain info for the links, adjust the
client's content, then just resave and upload to your new domain! If
you are just doing the basic 5-page Mobile site like this it should be
a very quick update for you to complete.
